 After crossing the Hindukush the Aryans exerted into India through North-Western Passes.But it is difficult to determine the time,in terms of chronology, when they first arrived in India.The arrived of Aryans in India was not the outcome of single movementmovement. It took place in successive waves spread over a long period.They first settle in the Valley of Kabul river and the Punjab.The region they occipied was called "Sapta Sindhu" or "The Land of Seven River".It comprised "Afghanistan, North-West Frontier Province, Kashmer,Punjab and Parts of Sindhu".
