     Although the Harappan Civilization was Urban in character. The people practice agriculture.Ifact the basic of economic life of Indus Valley Civilization was agriculture.The people grow Wheat, Barly, Pea, Sesame, Mustard etc. Wheat was main article of food.Barly and Palm date were also familer.People also ate Mutton, Pork Fish and Egg.Spinning and Weaving were common.Cotton cloth also use.The dress of men consisted of two pieces of cotton fabric. :-One of the upper part of the body and other lower part below the waist. 
   The use of wool as material for winter garment also known. Men and women kept Long Hair. Ornaments made of Gold, Silver, and Precious Stone. Singing, Dancing, Hunting, ChesChess playing and Charriot driving were popular with the city deweller.Relics of utensils and house hold-articals made of Stone, Terra Cotta, Copper, Tin and Bronze have been discovereddiscovered. Iron was unknown.Weapons of war like Spear, Axes, Maces, Bows and Arrows have also been discovered.But Shelds and Helmeth were not found.The domestication of animals such as Sheep, Buffalo, and Elephant etc.
