         Hello students in last class I have teach you "Sources of History". 

         Now today I will discuss with you "Archaeological Sources of History".
      
       Now in this topic our discussion point is:-1)What is Archaeological Sources of History? 
2)Types of Archaeological Sources of History? 
            Now let's come our first topic that is:-
1) What is archaeological Sources of History? 
           The evidences which are excraved from earth surface this is called "Archaeological Sources of History".
        
         The historian who write the history on the basis of archaeological Sources is called " Archaeologist".
          Now students archaeological Sources are divided into 3 parts. 
1) Inscriptions
2) Coins and
3) Monuments and sculptures
             Let's see students what is Inscriptions, Coins, and Monuments and sculptures. 
a) Inscriptions
         Inscriptions are those evidences which are excraved in "pillars, rock, stones etc".It gives us information about political life of past people. 
         The study of inscriptions are called " Epigraphy".
          The oldest rock edict is "Asok Rock Edict".It is a " Brahmi script".It is written in "Sanskrit Language".Other than that many kings had written many inscriptions fir examples:-a)King kharavila wrote "Hathigumpha Inscription".
b) King Samudragupta wrote "Allahabad Pillar Inscription". 
c) King Rudraman wrote "Junagarh Rock inscription".
d)Pulakisan 2 wrote "Aihole Pillar Inscription".
b) Coins
         Coins are medium to exchnage.In past coins was not used to medium of exchange. 
       The things were used as medium of exchange called " Battersystem".
            With the help of coins we know about Political, Social and Economic life of past people. 
             The study of coins are called "Numasmatics".Indo-Geeek was the first ruker who used the coins.The Gupta rular first used the " Gold Coins".The coins are different names in different kingdoms:-1)Satabhana kingdom called "potin".
2)Cholakingdom called " Khasu".
3) Pala Kingdom called "Narayani".
C) Monuments and Sculptures
         The structure of buildings are called " Monuments ".It helps to study Political, Social, and Economic life of past people.The beautiful example of monument are " The Tajmahal".
            The structure of Humans,Plants and Animals are called Sculptures. It helps to know about the people, animals and plants were found in past.
